Assistant Masters Swimming Coach
Description
The Assistant Coach will be responsible for on-deck coaching for a select number of workouts per week, writing workouts and light record keeping, and administrative duties as assigned by Head Masters Coach. Applicant must be able to clearly articulate stroke technique, training technique, and do it in an effective manner for a wide range of ability levels. Applicant must be comfortable with working with a wide range of ages, from undergraduates to older faculty, staff, and alumni.
Qualifications
Applicant must have an extensive swimming background. This background must be in competitive swimming. Previous coaching experience is a plus. Working with adult swimmers is also a plus.

Lifeguard

Swimming Lessons Instructor
Duties
The Swimming Instructor will be responsible for teaching basic swimming technique to beginner children and adults as well as more advanced child swimmers. Applicant must be comfortable with working with children with a wide range of ages, from three to twelve, as well as adults.
Qualifications
Applicant must have previous swimming lessons/coaching experience with children and/or adults. An American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor Certification is a plus but not a requirement.

Description

Fitness Center Attendant

Work study students encouraged to apply. The fitness center attendant plays an integral part in the provision of services for the department of physical education and athletics. The primary role of the fitness center attendant is to perform general cleaning and monitoring duties. Specific responsibilities include: cleaning and disinfecting fitness equipment, vacuuming equipment and floors, wearing a facilities staff shirt, enforcing fitness center policies, attending mandatory monthly meetings, and occasionally be assigned other duties by a facilities manager.
Qualifications

The primary role of the VCA is to assist in the management of the University of Chicago's athletic and recreational facilities. Duties include monitoring the entrance to the Henry Crown Field House and the Gerald Ratner Athletics Center; selling athletic memberships and gym supplies; checking out gym equipment, towels, and lockers; handling reservations of athletic equipment and facilities; and laundering towels.
Qualifications
Interested candidates must exhibit excellent customer service skills, good computer skills, have the ability to troubleshoot problems diplomatically, and be responsible when handling money.
