How my student-athlete experience prepared me for where I am today
"In a vast majority of cases, the attainment of good performance requires the ability to focus and to deal with the elements involved in a disciplined way, whether physical or mental in nature. Also, the importance of teamwork, for the attainment of the best possible results, is a vital perspective. Such things are nurtured in the realm of well-coached varsity sports."

My most memorable moment as a University of Chicago athlete
"My most memorable moment was during my first year of varsity sports when members of the Order of the C (undergraduates and alumni) marched into the court behind Hutchinson Commons, with Amos Alonzo at the head of the line, and sang the "Song of the C". It was an absolute thrill!"
