My most memorable moment as a University of Chicago athlete
"The greatest moment in my college basketball career was in 1986 when our captain, Mike Clifford, hit a fadeaway three-point play at the buzzer with a hand in his face to win the game that made us 12-2 and catapulted us into the top 20. This was no ordinary fadeaway; he was pushed so far by the defender that he collapsed into the players on the bench.
"

Memories of being a student-athlete I would like to share
"My personal favorite was doing the Sports Illustrated spread with Igal Litovsky, who had been all-state in high school and also ended up in grad school at Harvard with me. Our coach had told the reporter that I studied Chinese and Japanese (wrong! I worked on languages farther west like Armenian and Sanskrit) so I had to sit in the bowels of the Field House posing with Chinese and Japanese dictionaries for an hour."
