Fazzari, Atteberry Earn UAA Weekly Accolades

Association Baseball Athletes of the Week, the conference announced today.

Maroons Win #20 in Regular Season Finale
NAPERVILLE, Ill. -- The University of Chicago baseball team split a doubleheader at North Central College on the final day of the regular season Sunday, winning and losing by scores of 9-5. Freshman designated hitter Trace Capps (Lynwood, Ill./ Bloom) and senior first baseman Scott Hofer (San Marino, Calif./ Flintridge Prep) (pictured) homered and combined for five RBIs as the Maroons won game one 9-5. The win gave Chicago (20-13-1) its seventh 20-victory campaign since 1996.

Capps Named UAA Rookie of the Year; Schmitt Voted to 1st Team
CHICAGO -- University of Chicago freshman designated hitter Trace Capps (Lynwood, Ill./ Bloom) (pictured) has been named the University Athletic Association Rookie of the Year and senior center fielder Kyle Schmitt (Hoffman Estates, Ill./ Fremd) has been selected to the All-UAA First Team as the conference today announced its 2009 All-Association Baseball Team.

Brian Baldea Wins #300
PHOENIX -- The University of Chicago baseball team split a doubleheader against the Massachusetts Institute of Technology Monday on the second day of its spring break tour. Chicago's win in game two marked the 300th career victory for Head Coach Brian Baldea.
