Chicago Places 6th at Midwest Regional

OSHKOSH, Wis. -- The University of Chicago women's cross country team captured sixth place at the 39-team 2009 Midwest Regional Championship Saturday at the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh. With their sixth-place showing on 237 points, the Maroons missed national championship consideration by one place. Junior Lizzy Bright (Kalisdell, Mont./ Montana Academy) earned all-region honors as a result virtue of her 33rd-place finish. She covered the six-kilometer course in 22:42.

Chicago Finishes 6th at UAA Championship

CLEVELAND -- The University of Chicago women's cross country team placed sixth out of eight teams at the 2009 University Athletic Association Championship Saturday at Case Western Reserve University. Sophomore Rachel Ohman (Solana Beach, Calif./ Torrey Pines) earned All-UAA Second Team accolades as a result of her 13th-place finish.

CHICAGO -- University of Chicago sophomore Rachel Ohman (Solana Beach, Calif./ Torrey Pines) has been selected as the University Athletic Association Athlete of the Week for women's cross country, the conference announced today.

Liz Lawton Named UAA Athlete of the Week

CHICAGO -- University of Chicago junior Liz Lawton (North Easton, Mass./ Thayer Academy) has been selected as the University Athletic Association Athlete of the Week for women's cross country, the conference announced today. Lawton finished third among 54 runners at the Sept. 4 Valparaiso University Crusader Open.
