After a rocky start in UAA play in a 76-50 loss at Washington University, the team bounced back and won our first two home UAA games this past weekend.

On Friday we defeated Case Western 76-65. We controlled the game most of the way, but missed some free throws down the stretch to tighten the score.

On Sunday we had our best shooting day of the year and defeated Emory 91-65.

While the loss to Washington still stings, we have made strides and played very good basketball this past weekend. We are currently 9-5 overall and 2-1 in the UAA. We are tied with Brandeis in the league standings, one game behind Washington and Rochester.

Our next two games are on the road at Brandeis on Friday at 8 p.m. and at NYU on Sunday at 12 p.m. Brandeis is currently ranked #2 in the country and NYU is a very solid team and always tough to play on the road. These games will be a big test as we try to secure our place in the race for the UAA championship.

The Boston/New York trip is always a fun time to catch up with our many alumni and friends in those areas. I hope to see a lot of you this weekend.

Take Care,
Mike McGrath
