Nov. 27, 2007
After the second week of the year, the Maroons are now 2-2.
This past weekend we won the first game of the DePauw Tournament against Transylvania (KY) by a score of 89-75. We played very well offensively as we shot 64% from the floor and 56% from three.
In the championship game, however, we lost to DePauw by a score of 81-67. It was a closely contested game against a very good team that pulled away in the end for the win. DePauw played very well offensively (9-12 from three in the second half!), but we definitely need to improve at the defensive end as we continue with the season.
Tomorrow night we play at Wheaton College at 7:30 pm. Wheaton is currently ranked #22 in the country and are led by an All-American guard who is a terrific player.
We are currently ranked #32 in the country and will need a great effort to get the win.
On Saturday, we play our last game before finals as we take on Kalamazoo College at the Ratner Center at 1:00pm. It is definitely a big week for the team.
I hope that everyone had a good Thanksgiving and we hope to see you soon!
Take Care,
Mike McGrath
