UChicago students are invited to attend a three-week workshop focused on wellness, starting on Jan. 24.
The workshop is jointly sponsored by Physical Education & Athletics and Health Promotion & Wellness. The drop-in classes will cover three distinct topics - "Creating a Sustainable Exercise Program" on Jan. 24, "Stress Management" on Jan. 31 and "Nutrition for EveryBODY" on Feb. 7. Each session will run from 10:35 to 11:30 AM in the Ratner Athletics Center pool classroom.
"Creating a Sustainable Exercise Program" on Jan. 24
A practice-based group session facilitated by a personal trainer and movement specialist with strategies to cultivate an enjoyable, practical exercise program. Topics include well-being, cardio and pain and stress management through exercise. Please wear comfortable clothing.
"Stress Management" on Jan. 31
Stress is a part of everyday life. By attending this class, you will learn how to manage your stress in healthy ways and be trained on three brief, effective stress management methods.
"Nutrition for EveryBODY" on Feb. 7
Attend this workshop to discuss the difference between the thin ideal and the healthy idea, learn about the Health at Every Size movement and explore nutrition options that are right for you.
