Swimming & Diving

In its final meet of the regular season, UChicago hosts the annual two-day Midwest Invitational this Friday and Saturday. The Maroons are coming off last week's University Athletic Association (UAA) Championships, which took place inside the Myers-McLoraine Pool. They finished third on the women's side and fourth on the men's side in the eight-team conference meet.

Over the course of the four-day event, UChicago broke 10 school records and totaled 22 All-UAA performers. Freshman Agnes Lo won both the one-meter and three-meter dives to capture UAA Women's Diver of the Year. Those efforts were also honored with UAA Athlete of the Week honors on Monday. Senior Alison Wall paced the women with six All-UAA finishes and Alexander Farrell led the men with four All-UAA accolades.

Women's Basketball

The Maroons (16-6 overall, 9-2 UAA) looks to maintain its spot atop the conference standings with a pair of road games this weekend. They travel to Brandeis University (11-11, 3-8 UAA) on Friday and then New York University (13-9, 3-8 UAA) on Sunday.

UChicago has caught fire over the last five games, beating opponents by an average of 24.4 points. The lock-down defense has forced 26.2 turnovers per game in that time and held three-straight opponents below 60 points scored. Sophomore forward Olariche Obi is averaging 7.8 rebounds and 2.4 steals per game during the win streak. Senior forward Britta Nordstrom has scored at least 20 points in four of the past six games.

Both Brandeis and NYU rank in the bottom two in the league in points scored, but also in the top two in points allowed.


Men's Basketball

UChicago (13-9 overall, 5-6 UAA) heads out to the northeast for a pair of UAA games at Brandeis (7-14, 3-8) on Friday and NYU (7-15, 2-9 UAA) on Sunday.

Junior guard Jake Fenlon owns the hot hand from beyond the arc over the past five games. He has made 30 three-pointers in that time and shot 51 percent on those attempts. Fenlon ranks 24th in NCAA Division III in three-pointers made per game (3.29), while sophomore guard Noah Karras is 18th in the nation in three-point percentage (.446).

Brandeis has lost seven of its past eight games while NYU has dropped nine of its last 10. Jordan Cooper leads the Judges with 15.3 points per game and Ross Udine paces the Violets with 16.0 PPG.

Indoor Track & Field

The Maroons will host their third home meet of the season with the annual Margaret Bradley Invitational on Saturday inside the Henry Crown Field House.

Since 2013, UChicago's men and women have both finished in the top two in all 14 of their home meets. At last week's Chicagoland Indoor Championships, the Maroon women placed third and the men took fifth. Junior Kelsey Dunn picked up a victory in the women's 3,000 meters. Junior Nathan Downey also put up the second-best indoor pole vault height in school history at 4.90 meters.

Women's Tennis

No. 10-ranked UChicago (3-0 record) will face a pair of top-25 teams in Indiana this weekend, with a Saturday match against No. 22-ranked Denison (0-1) and a Sunday tilt at No. 25-ranked DePauw (1-0).

The Maroons have won its three team matches this season by a combined score of 26-1. Last year, UChicago beat Denison 6-3 and DePauw 8-1 in a pair of duals. When UChicago faced off against the two teams individually during the ITA Central Region Championships in the fall, the Maroons went a combined 3-2 in singles and 3-2 in doubles.

Men's Tennis

The No. 5-ranked Maroons (5-0 record) will also take on No. 33-ranked Denison (0-2) and No. 34-ranked DePauw (1-0) on consecutive days in neighboring Indiana.

Over five dual matches, UChicago has gone 40-5 combined in singles and doubles. The play of the doubles tandems have stood out with a 33-6 overall mark since the start of the fall. At the fall ITA Central Region Championships, the Maroons went a perfect 6-0 between singles and doubles against Denison and DePauw.
