CHICAGO – A total of 94 University of Chicago spring sport student-athletes achieved University Athletic Association (UAA) All-Academic recognition for 2017. The eight conference schools tallied 519 UAA All-Academic accolades.
The Maroons were represented in all six spring sports – baseball, softball, men's tennis, women's tennis, men's outdoor track & field and women's outdoor track & field.
Within the UAA, All-Academic Recognition is awarded to student-athletes who have completed at least one full year of college study and carry a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.300. The 3.300 GPA is the same academic standard used as a qualifying threshold by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) for the nomination of Academic All-America candidates in all sports.
