Baseball

The Maroons (17-6 record) look to keep their offensive hot streak rolling with four games on tap this week. UChicago hits the road to Cleveland for a four-game weekend series at Case Western Reserve University (17-14).

UChicago's bats had a big weekend at Beloit College, scoring 34 runs on 45 hits in a doubleheader sweep. The offense smashed a season-high 24 hits in game one – their most since totaling 25 against Lawrence University in 2011.

Currently, the Maroons lead all of NCAA Division III with a .367 team batting average while ranking second in on-base percentage (.448). Their hitters have totaled more walks (89) than strikeouts (85). Sophomore catcher Ian Bohn hit .526 last week with nine RBI and four doubles.

Softball

UChicago (16-9 record) continues its road trip with six contests, with Aurora University (21-9) on Thursday and a four-game set at Case Western Reserve (17-12) on Saturday and Sunday.

Senior second base Anna Woolery and sophomore outfielder Maeve Garvey are tied for the team lead with 10 multi-hit games this season. On the base paths, UChicago has already stolen 66 bases in 27 games (2.4/game), compared to 60 in 37 games last year (1.6/game). Sophomore outfielder Serena Moss is 11-for-11 on stolen base attempts.

Track & Field

UChicago will serve as the host of the University Athletic Association (UAA) Outdoor Track & Field Championships this weekend. Events commence at 10:00 AM on both Saturday and Sunday on the Ted Haydon Track.

At last year's UAA outdoor meet, the Maroon women placed third and the men took fifth in the team standings. Senior Andrew Maneval is the defending champion in the men's shot put and was named the 2016 UAA Most Outstanding Field Performer. Junior Megan Verner-Crist won last year's 1,500 meters on the women's side and was also part of the winning 4x800-meter relay alongside senior Michelle Dobbs and junior Cassidy McPherson.


Women's Tennis

No. 9-ranked UChicago (14-3 record) travels to Florida for the UAA Championship from Thursday-Saturday. Last year's team placed third at the meet.

The Maroons enter as the No. 2 seed and boast a 4-0 record against UAA competition so far this season. UChicago has beaten No. 3 seed Washington University-St. Louis three times and No. 5 seed Case Western Reserve once. Most recently, the Maroons topped WashU 8-1 in St. Louis on April 16. Sophomore Rachel Kim and freshman Marjorie Antohi are both riding six-match winning streaks in singles.

UChicago opens up play against No. 7-seed New York University (7-3) at 9:00 AM (ET) on Thursday.

Men's Tennis

The No. 5-ranked Maroons (15-3 record) will also embark to the UAA Championship in Altamonte Springs, Fla. with matches scheduled from Friday-Sunday. Last year, the squad finished fourth.

As the No. 3 seed, UChicago begins Friday with a 9:00 AM (ET) match against No. 6 seed NYU (9-2). The Maroons are 1-2 against UAA opponents this year, including a 1-1 split with No. 2 seed Washington-St. Louis. UChicago has not lost to a team ranked outside the top 10 since March 2014.
