Beginning with the men's and women's soccer teams trips to the Final Four in 1996, eight University of Chicago sports teams have finished among the top-four in NCAA Division III Championship competition.
In 2011, women's tennis became the first Chicago team to accomplish the feat in three consecutive years.
Women's soccer, which has made three national Final Four appearances, achieved the highest-ever finish by a Chicago sports team when it lost in overtime in the championship match of the 2005 NCAA championship.
In all, 10 different Chicago teams have made a combined 53 trips to NCAA postseason tournaments.
