CHICAGO -- The University of Chicago women's tennis team took its first step toward making a third consecutive trip to the national quarterfinals as it defeated Luther College 5-0 in the second round of the NCAA Division III Championship Saturday at Bally's Hyde Park.

ST. PETER, Minn. -- Trailing 2-1 at the conclusion of doubles play, the University of Chicago men's tennis team rallied for a 5-2 win over Grinnell College in second round of the NCAA Division III Championship Saturday afternoon at Gustavus Adolphus College.

CHICAGO -- Led by First Team selection junior catcher Stephen Williams (Malibu, Calif./ Malibu), three University of Chicago baseball players have been chosen to the 2011 All-University Athletic Association Team. Sophomore left fielder Jack Cinoman (Chicago, Ill./ Whitney Young) and sophomore first baseman J.R. Lopez (Fort Collins, Colo./ Rocky Mountain) represented the Maroons on the All-UAA Second Team.

CHICAGO -- University of Chicago senior Chrissy Hu (Palo Alto, Calif./ Palo Alto) and junior Kendra Higgins (Vero Beach, Fla./ Vero Beach) have gained an opportunity to pursue an unprecedented third consecutive national doubles title, as the NCAA today announced the field for the Division III Women's Tennis Singles and Doubles Championships.

Women's Basketball Reaches NCAA Elite Eight

CRESTVIEW HILLS, Ky. (Mar. 11, 2011) -- Junior Joann Torres (Richgrove, Calif./ Cesar Chavez) led four Maroons in double figures with a career-high 16 points as the University of Chicago women's basketball team earned a trip to the NCAA Division III elite eight with an 87-61 victory over Greensboro College.

CHICAGO (Feb. 20, 2011) -- With its school-record 17th consecutive victory, 77-49 over New York University, the sixth-ranked University of Chicago women's basketball team captured the University Athletic Association championship and an automatic bid to the NCAA Division III tournament Sunday at the Ratner Athletics Center.
