Maroons Fall in Exhibition at DePaul
CHICAGO -- Devin Hill and Will Walker scored 15 points each as DePaul University defeated the University of Chicago men's basketball team 81-36 in an exhibition game Friday night at McGrath Arena. Senior John Bonelli (San Francisco, Calif./ St. Ignatius) led the Maroons with six points.

Nov. 6, 2009 - Volleyball
Maroons Win Two at UAA Championship
CHICAGO -- The University of Chicago volleyball team won a pair of matches on the first day of the 2009 University Athletic Association Championship Friday at the Ratner Athletics Center. After defeating Carnegie Mellon University in five sets, the Maroons swept Brandeis University in three. Sophomore outside hitter Colleen Belak (Louisville, Ky./ Presentation) hit 22 kills in the two contests. Chicago completes pool play Saturday at 10 a.m. against fourth-ranked Emory University. A victory would put the Maroons in the title match.

Maroons Fall in Exhibition at UIC
CHICAGO -- The University of Chicago women's basketball team dropped an 84-67 decision to the University of Illinois-Chicago in an exhibition game Wednesday night at the UIC Pavilion. Senior Molly Hackney (East Lansing, Mich./ Lansing Catholic) (pictured) and sophomores Meghan Herrick (Cedarburg, Wis./ Cedarburg) and Bryanne Halfhill (Canfield, Ohio/ Canfield) each scored 11 points for the Maroons.

CHICAGO -- University of Chicago senior midfielder Claire Gill (Los Altos Hills, Calif./ King's Academy) has been selected to the ESPN the Magazine Academic All-District Five Women's Soccer Second Team, selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America.

CHICAGO -- The University of Chicago softball completed its second international tour, a three-nation trek in Europe from June 14-24. The Maroons visited Holland, Belgium, and Germany during the 11-day tour, the program's second in five years.

CHICAGO -- The University of Chicago announced today the seventh induction class of the University's Athletics Hall of Fame. The eight honorees will be formally inducted on Friday evening, Oct. 23, 2009, as part of Chicago's Homecoming Celebration.

Kendra Higgins, Chrissy Hu Win NCAA Doubles Championship (5/24/09)
LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. -- University of Chicago sophomore Chrissy Hu (Palo Alto, Calif./ Palo Alto) and freshman Kendra Higgins (Vero Beach, Fla./ Vero Beach) won the doubles title at the 2009 NCAA Division III Women's Tennis Championships. Higgins and Hu became the first Maroons to claim NCAA Division III women's tennis individual titles.

Claire Ray Nets Three All-America Performances (5/23/09)
MARIETTA, Ohio -- University of Chicago junior Claire Ray (Park Ridge, Ill./ St. Ignatius) (pictured) earned her third All-America award of the weekend on the third and final day of the 2009 NCAA Division III Women's Outdoor Track & Field Championship. Ray finished fourth in the shot put competition with a 13.94-meter distance. Sophomore Stephanie Omueti (Chicago, Ill./ Whitney Young) joined Ray as an All-American after finishing eighth in the 100-meter dash with a time of 12.39 seconds.

LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. -- The University of Chicago captured fourth place at the 2009 NCAA Division III Women's Tennis Championship after dropping a 5-1 decision to Emory University in the third-place match Thursday at the Collins Hill Tennis Club.

Nicole Murphy Earns All-America Women's Track & Field Honors (3/14/09)
TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- University of Chicago junior Nicole Murphy (Coppell, Texas/ Coppell) turned in an All-America performance on the second and final day of the 2009 NCAA Division III Women's Indoor Track & Field Championship Saturday at Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology. Murphy placed seventh in the shot put competition with a distance of 13.68 meters.

Wrestling Wins UAA Title (2/7/09)
CLEVELAND -- Led by five conference champions, the University of Chicago wrestling team won the 2009 University Athletic Association Championship Saturday at Case Western Reserve University. Chicago defeated New York University 21-13 and host Case 37-10 in dual match competition to claim the school's 13th UAA title since the league's inaugural event in 1988.

Swimming & Diving Trains in Costa Rica (12/29/08)
CHICAGO -- During this year's winter break, the University of Chicago men’s and women’s swimming & diving teams will travel to San Jose, Costa Rica, to train and compete in the warmth of Central America. While there, the team plans to send a daily blog of the trip written by first-year students, Lelia Glass and Zach Lain.
