CHICAGO -- University of Chicago Director of Athletics Tom Weingartner has appointed Tim Fayed as assistant men's and women's tennis coach.
Fayed joins the staff of Interim Head Coach Taka Bertrand, who was named to that position in August following a two-year stint as assistant coach.
Fayed has served as the assistant head tennis professional at the International Tennis Hall of Fame since the summer of 2010.
A four-year letter winner at Stonehill College, an NCAA Division II institution in North Easton, Mass., Fayed was a three-time All-Northeast 10 Conference selection and the 2009 NE-10 Player of the Year.
Fayed earned a bachelor's degree in business administration from Stonehill in 2011.
Chicago, which opens its 2012 campaign at Kalamazoo College on Jan. 29, has finished fourth at the NCAA Division III Championship each of the past three years.
