CHICAGO -- The University of Chicago has been selected to host NCAA Division III Women's Basketball Championship First and Second Round games Friday and Saturday, Mar. 2-3 at the Ratner Athletics Center.

In Friday's first contest, Simpson College (21-6) will take on the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire (20-6) at 5:30 p.m. At 8 p.m., Chicago (25-0) will meet Monmouth College (16-9). The winners will play Saturday at 7 p.m., for the opportunity to advance to the Division III sectionals the following weekend.

Tickets priced at $7 for adults and $4 for children will go on sale at the door beginning Friday at 4:30 p.m. UChicago students will be admitted free of charge, as the Department of Physical Education & Athletics will absorb the cost of those tickets.

Tickets for Saturday's second round contest will be available for purchase immediately after each game Friday night, as well as at the door Saturday beginning at 6 p.m.

One of four undefeated teams in Division III, Chicago makes its fifth NCAA postseason appearance and third in a row. The Maroons, who have won 46 of their last 47 games, reached the national quarterfinals a year ago.

Monmouth makes its first NCAA Championship appearance. The Scots earned an automatic bid as the Midwest Conference tournament champions with a 75-67 win over Carroll University.

Making its eighth straight trip to the NCAA tournament, Simpson received an at-large bid. The Iowa Intercollegiate Athletic Conference regular season champions, the Storm lost to Coe College in the IIAC title game.

Wisconsin-Eau Claire also garnered an at-large berth. The Blugolds, who have not played in the NCAA tournament since 2008-09, shared the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference regular season crown before falling to Wisconsin-Whitewater in the WIAC tournament semifinals.

Friday night will mark the first NCAA postseason games to be played at the Ratner Center since the facility opened in 2003.
