CHICAGO -- Washington (Mo.) University's Jen Reed scored the only goal of the match to lift the 14th-ranked Bears (15-4, 5-2 UAA) to a 1-0 University Athletic Association win over the 25th-ranked University of Chicago women's soccer team (9-6-2, 2-3-2 UAA) Saturday in the regular season finale for both clubs.
Reed scored on an 18-yard shot unassisted in the 76th minute. The goal was her third of the season.
Shots were even at 12-12. Chicago held a 10-4 edge in the first half, before the Bears outshot the Maroons by an 8-2 margin in the second stanza.
Clara Jacques stopped six shots to record her fifth shutout. Senior Emma Gormley (Carmel, Ind./ Carmel) also made six saves.

Saturday's loss snapped the Maroons' four-game series winning streak.
Chicago finished the season with a 5-4-1 mark at Stagg Field.
Ranked fourth in the Central Region heading into this week's action, Chicago remains in contention for an at-large bid to the NCAA Division III tournament. The NCAA will announce the 2011 tournament bracket Monday at 12:30 p.m.
