Dan Yeksigian Named to All-Region Team

Chicago -- University of Chicago junior pitcher Dan Yeksigian (Downers Grove, Ill./ Benet) has been named to the American Baseball Coaches Association NCAA Division III All-Central Region team, the ABCA announced today.

A third-team selection, Yeksigian posted an 8-3 record with a 3.31 earned run average during the 2005 campaign. He notched six complete games and two shutouts, including a no-hitter against Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology on the final day of the season.

Yeksigian struck out 78 batters in 73.1 innings, while allowing only 33 bases on balls. He was also credited with one save.

Chicago recorded an 18-17 mark in 2005, giving the Maroons their third straight winning season and ninth in the last 11 years under Head Coach Brian Baldea.
