Maroons Fall to IIT 6-5

Chicago -- The University of Chicago baseball team dropped a 6-5 decision to the Illinois Institute of Technology Friday at J. Kyle Anderson Field.

The teams traded runs in each of the first two innings, before the Scarlet Hawks (11-12) took a 3-2 lead with an unearned run in the top of the third.

A two-run double by Elvis Medina in the top of the sixth gave IIT a 6-3 lead. Chicago answered with a pair of runs in the bottom of the sixth to account for the final scoring of the contest.

Senior shortstop Steve Ruh (Northbrook, Ill./ Glenbrook North) went 4-for-5 with an RBI. He also threw one and two-thirds innings of scoreless relief.

With their eighth straight loss, the Maroons fell to 4-11 on the season.
