Univ. of Chicago Men's Track Finishes
Sixth
at Chicagoland Indoor Championships
Romeoville, Ill. -- The University of Chicago men's indoor track & field team captured sixth place at the 2002 Chicagoland Championships Saturday at Lewis University.
Three Chicago athletes posted top-five finishes. Sophomore Adeoye Mabogunje (Tamuning, Guam/St. John's) won the high jump competition with a mark of 2.05 meters. Sophomore Tom Haxton (Seattle, Wash./Shorecrest) was the runner-up in the mile run with a time of 4:22.92, and senior Keith Mastronardi (Seaford, N.Y./Chaminade) placed fourth in the triple jump with a leap of 13.79 meters.
North Central College won the team title.
