Univ. of Chicago Women's Track Finishes
Fifth
at Chicagoland Indoor Championships
Romeoville, Ill. -- The University of Chicago women's indoor track & field team captured fifth place at the 2002 Chicagoland Championships Friday night at Lewis University.
Two Chicago athletes posted top-three finishes. Freshman Erin Steiner (Western Springs, Ill./Lyons Township) was the runner-up in the 5,000-meter run with a time of 18:31.10, while sophomore Rachel Mariani (Valparaiso, Ind./Chesterton) took third in the 800-meter run (2:23.73).
North Central College won the team title.
