Univ. of Chicago Harriers Take Third Place
at North Central Invite
Naperville, Ill. - The University of Chicago men's and women's cross country teams each finished in third place at the North Central College Invitational Friday afternoon.
In the men's competition, sophomores Tom Haxton (Seattle, Wash./Shorecrest) and Patrick Sullivan (Wilmette, Ill./Loyola Academy) placed sixth and seventh, respectively, with times of 27:04 and 27:05 on the five-mile course. As a team, Chicago finished third among 17 competing clubs.
In the women's race, the Maroons featured two top-ten finishers en route to a third-place effort in the 16-team competition. Senior Margaret Bradley (Falmouth, Mass./Falmouth) claimed seventh place with a five-kilometer time of 20:04, while freshman Erin Steiner (Western Springs, Ill./Lyons Township) placed 10th with a time of 20:13.
