For Immediate Release Chicago Announces 2005 Football Captains Chicago -- University of Chicago Head Football Coach Dick Maloney announced today that junior defensive end Rob Tamillow (Oak Park, Ill./ Fenwick) and junior defensive back Colin Carrier (Glen Ellyn, Ill./ Benet Academy) have been elected co-captains of the 2005 football team. Tamillow was an All-North Region second-team selection and All-University Athletic Association first-team pick this past season after setting Chicago modern era (since 1969) records with 12 sacks and 21 tackles-for-loss. He ranked sixth in the NCAA Division III in tackles-for-loss and seventh in sacks. Carrier led the Maroons with three interceptions, one of which he returned for a touchdown, en route to earning a spot on the 2004 All-UAA second team. He has five interceptions and two touchdown runbacks in the past two seasons. Chicago kicks off its 2005 campaign at North Park University on Saturday, Sept. 10. |
