Jerome Tharaud Named UAA Athlete of the Week
Chicago -- University of Chicago senior Jerome Tharaud (Bozeman, Mont./Bozeman) was named the University Athletic Association Athlete of the Week for men's outdoor track & field, the UAA announced today.
At the 2002 Chicagoland Championships on Apr. 6, Tharaud won the steeplechase with a time of 9:17.99, which was the third-fastest time in the NCAA Division III and the best in the UAA.
Tharaud was named UAA Athlete of the Week for the second time this season and the first time during the outdoor campaign. He and his distance medley relay teammates were recognized during the indoor season.
