Maroons Defeat Wheaton 5-2

Chicago -- The University of Chicago men's tennis team defeated Wheaton (Ill.) College 5-2 Tuesday at the Stagg Field Courts.

Chicago (16-7) won for the third time in its last four matches and improved to 10-3 in the Central Region.

Junior Ward Bortz (Brookfield, Wis./ Marquette) won at first singles to raise his season mark to 22-7.

Freshman Sasha Deriy (Bolingbrook, Ill./ IMSA) posted a victory at second singles, which extended his winning streak to four matches and improved his season record to 15-11.
