Hannah Roberts Named All-American

Chicago -- University of Chicago junior pitcher Hannah Roberts (Scottsville, Ky./ Allen County-Scottsville) has been named to the Louisville Slugger/National Fastpitch Coaches Association NCAA Division III All-America third team, the NFCA announced today.

A three-time All-American, Roberts notched a 16-4 record with a 0.36 earned run average in 2005. She struck out 205 batters in 137.1 innings (10.4 per seven innings) and held opponents to a .127 batting average.

Roberts was a second-team All-American a year ago and a third-team choice following her debut campaign in 2003. Earlier this month, she was named to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District V first team.

In three years at Chicago, the right-hander has compiled a record of 49-12 with a 0.39 earned run average. The 2004 NCAA Division III ERA leader, she has collected 591 career strikeouts (429.2 innings) and has registered 24 shutouts.

Chicago finished the 2005 campaign with a 25-10 record, marking the Maroons' fourth 20-win season in the past six years.
