For Immediate Release Three Maroons Named to All-UAA Team Chicago -- University of Chicago sophomore middle hitter Emma Hamilton (Washington, D.C./ National Cathedral), sophomore libero Tracie Kenyon (Sunnyvale, Calif./ St. Francis), and sophomore outside hitter Katie Meinhover (Ottertail, Minn./ Perham) were selected to the 2003 All-University Athletic Association volleyball team, the conference announced today. All three players were honorable mention selections. Hamilton led the Maroons with 113 blocks (0.99 per game) and a .251 hitting percentage in 2003, while finishing second on the squad with 285 kills (2.50 per game). In UAA play, she averaged 2.57 kills and 1.16 blocks per game. Kenyon collected 479 digs on the season for a per-game average of 5.26. In 11 UAA matches, she averaged 5.54 digs per game. Meinhover led the Maroons with 412 kills (3.49 per game), marking the second-highest season total in school history. She also led the team in services aces (42) and finished second in digs (370). She averaged 3.84 kills and 3.22 digs per game in conference play. Each player received All-UAA recognition for the first time in their respective careers. Chicago finsihed the 2003 campaign with a 7-29 overall record, including a 1-10 mark in Association play. |
