Maroons Take Two of Three at Dominican Invite

River Forest, Ill. -- Junior outside hitter Jessica Scott (Elgin, Ill./ Westminster Christian) hit 52 kills in three matches and sophomore outside hitter Erica Pettke (Sussex, Wis./ Divine Savior Holy Angels) was named to the all-tournament team as the University of Chicago volleyball team posted a 2-1 mark at the Dominican University Invitational on Saturday.

Chicago opened the day with a 19-30, 30-19, 30-21, 30-23 win over Judson College, then fell to The Franciscans University 28-30, 26-30, 30-28, 30-24, 15-10. The Maroons (2-3) downed North Park University 30-28, 30-18, 30-22 in the final match of the day.

Scott hit 22 kills against Franciscans and 15 against Judson and North Park, while posting a .350 hitting percentage in the three matches. She also collected 48 digs.

Pettke recorded 44 digs, 24 kills, and seven aces on the day. In the win over North Park, she registered 10 kills and a .450 attack percentage in addition to 16 digs.

Sophomore libero Tracie Kenyon (Sunnyvale, Calif./ St. Francis) was credited with 69 digs, including 32 against Franciscans. The 32 digs were three shy of the school record she established a year ago.

Sophomore outside hitter Katie Meinhover (Ottertail, Minn./ Perham) posted a pair of double-digit kill efforts, with 16 against Judson and 12 against North Park.
