For Immediate Release Chicago Announces Volleyball Class of 2008 Chicago -- University of Chicago Head Volleyball Coach Dorinda von Tersch announced today the team's incoming freshmen for the 2004 season. Colette Hausoul (New Buffalo, Mich./ Marquette) is a 6'2" right side hitter, who led Marquette High School to a state runner-up finish. She earned first team all-area, first team all-conference, and first team all-state honors. She finished in the top in the state in kills per game, total kills, and blocks. Hausoul is currently playing USA Juniors for Dunes Volleyball. Koryn Kendall (Napa, Calif./ Vintage) is a 6'2" middle hitter. She finished fifth in the Monticello Empire Region with 8.7 kills/game and ranked sixth with 1.60 blocks/game. Kendall is also a member of the Empire Volleyball Club team. Dominique Marshall (Columbus, Ohio/ Columbus School for Girls) is a 5'7" defensive specialist and setter. As co-captain, she was named second team All-Central District and team MVP. Marshall also competes for USA Juniors Matchpoint Volleyball Club and plays first base and outfield for the NSA Lady Lasers Fast Pitch Softball team, which in 2003 finished 5th at the NSA "A" Nationals. Allison Mell (Bartlett, Tenn./ Briarcrest Christian) is a 5'11" outside hitter, who was a member of the Tennessee State Championship team. She was named to the TSSAA All-State Tournament Team and garnered first team all-region and "Best of the Preps" all-metro accolades. She is also a member of the Memphis Juniors Club team. Erin O'Neill (Peoria, Ill./ Notre Dame) is a 6'2" middle hitter. She missed her senior year with an injury, but during her junior season earned first team all-conference and second team all-area recognition in basketball after leading her team in scoring. O'Neill also competes for the Eastside Volleyball Club. Chicago finished the 2003 campaign with a 7-29 overall record, including a 1-10 mark in University Athletic Association play. |
