For Immediate Release Ten Maroons Earn UAA Academic Distinction Chicago -- Ten members of the University of Chicago men's cross country team were honored as the University Athletic Association announced the fall recipients of the conference's All-Academic Recognition award. The 10 recipients were: Senior Tom Haxton
(Seattle, Wash./ Shorecrest) The 10 men's harriers were among 59 Chicago fall sport student-athletes to receive UAA All-Academic Recognition, which is awarded to student-athletes who have completed at least one full year of college study and who carry a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.20. The UAA Presidents Council established the All-Academic Recognition award in 1998 to recognize the high level of academic achievement demonstrated by Association student-athletes who effectively balance their significant commitment of time, effort, and energy in athletic endeavor with their highly challenging academic responsibilities. |
