For Immediate Release Chicago Drops Three at UAA Round Robin St. Louis, Mo. -- The University of Chicago volleyball team went 0-3 at the first University Athletic Association Round Robin at Washington University in St. Louis on Friday and Saturday, Oct. 3-4. Chicago lost to Brandeis University 30-24, 25-30, 30-23, 30-25 on Friday, before falling to Carnegie Mellon University 30-16, 30-18, 30-22 and Washington (Mo.) 32-30, 30-17, 30-20 on Saturday. Sophomore outside hitter Katie Meinhover (Ottertail, Minn./ Perham) led the Maroons with 38 kills on the weekend. She hit a season-high 19 kills against Brandeis and 11 in the loss to Carnegie Mellon. Sophomore middle hitter Emma Hamilton (Washington, D.C./ National Cathedral) and sophomore outside hitter Erica Pettke (Sussex, Wis./ Divine Savior Holy Angels) also posted double-digit kill efforts against Brandeis, Hamilton with 13 kills and Pettke with 11. Hamilton led the Maroons (4-17 overall, 0-3 UAA) with 10 blocks in the three matches. |
