Chicago Defeats Two of Three at UIC Invite

Chicago -- Senior Erin Steiner (Western Springs, Ill./ Lyons Township) finished third among 35 runners as the University of Chicago women's cross country team posted a 2-1 mark at Saturday's season-opening University of Illinois-Chicago Invitational.

In head-to-head competition, Chicago defeated Illinois-Chicago (15-45) and Chicago State University (15-50), and lost to the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee (28-29).

Steiner covered the 2-mile course in 11:55 en route to her third-place finish. Sophomore Dilshanie Perera (Princeton, N.J./ Princeton) captured sixth place with a time of 12:10.
