Maroons Place Third at Manchester Invite

North Manchester, Ind. -- Sophomore Mike Bishof (Oak Brook, Ill./ York) took top honors at the 165-pound weight class as the University of Chicago wrestling team captured third place at the nine-team Manchester College Spartan Mat Classic on Saturday.

Bishof won four matches, one by fall and three by decision, en route to the 165-pound title.

Senior Sean Barnes (Wheaton, Ill./ Wheaton-Warrenville South), sophomore Drew Marriott (Excelsior Springs, Mo./ Excelsior Springs), and sophomore Phil Kruzel (Elmhurst, Ill./ Fenwick) each finished runner-up in their respective weight class.

Competing at heavyweight, Barnes won his first three bouts before dropping a 3-2 decision in the final.

Marriott (197) and Kruzel (174) each won their first two matches before falling in the title bout.
