For Immediate Release Chicago Takes Fourth at North Central Invite Naperville, Ill. -- Senior Ai Nguyen (Chicago, Ill./ St. Ignatius) and sophomore Andrew Bribriesco (Bettendorf, Iowa/ Bettendorf) both posted second-place finishes as the University of Chicago wrestling team placed fourth among 17 teams at the North Central College Invitational on Friday and Saturday. Nguyen went 2-1, while Bribriesco won four of five bouts -- including wins by fall and technical fall -- en route to runner-up performances at 125 and 141 pounds, respectively. Sophomore Mike Bishof (Oak Brook, Ill./ York) turned in a third-place effort at 165 pounds, winning four of five contests with one win by fall. Two Chicago grapplers earned fourth-place finishes. Senior Sean Barnes (Wheaton, Ill./ Wheaton-Warrenville South) went 4-2 in the heavyweight competition, including a pair of wins by fall. Sophomore Phil Kruzel (Elmhurst, Ill./ Fenwick) posted a 3-2 mark at 174 pounds. Sophomore Drew Marriott (Excelsior Springs, Mo./ Excelsior Springs) won four of six bouts -- with one win by fall -- to take fifth place at 197 pounds. |
