Four Maroons Place at Wheaton Invite

Wheaton, Ill. -- Led by sophomore Andrew Bribriesco's (Bettendorf, Iowa/ Bettendorf) fourth-place finish, the University of Chicago wrestling team placed ninth among 27 teams at the Wheaton (Ill.) College Pete Willson Invitational on Friday and Saturday.

One of four Maroons to place among the top eight in his weight class, Bribriesco won four of six bouts at 141 pounds to improve to 22-9 on the season.

Senior Sean Barnes (Wheaton, Ill./ Wheaton-Warrenville South) posted a 3-2 mark en route to a fifth-place finish at heavyweight. He stands at 25-8 this season.

Sophomores Phil Kruzel (Elmhurst, Ill./ Fenwick) and Drew Marriott (Excelsior Springs, Mo./ Excelsior Springs) placed sixth and eighth at 174 and 197 pounds, respectively. Both grapplers split six bouts on the weekend.
