For Immediate Release Chicago Improves to 2-0 Lisle, Ill. -- Freshman Vanessa Ng (Honolulu, Hawaii/ Ioloni) won three events to lead the University of Chicago women's swimming team to a 152-18 win over Benedictine (Ill.) University on Friday evening. Ng took top honors in the 50-, 100-, and 200-yard freestyles with respective times of 24.81 seconds, 56.36 seconds, and 2:03.41. Other first-place finishers included sophomore Kathleen Meil (Lisle, Ill./ St. Francis) in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:15.80) and freshman Nellie Movtchan (Woodbury, Minn./ Woodbury) in the 100-yard backstroke (1:14.26). The Maroons improved to 2-0 in dual meet competition. |
