For Immediate Release Chicago Falls to Grinnell Chicago -- The University of Chicago women's swimming team fell to Grinnell College 154-138 in dual meet action Saturday at the Myers-McLoraine Pool. Four Maroons posted first-place finishes in at least one event. Freshman Vanessa Ng (Honolulu, Hawaii/ Ioloni) won the 50-, 100-, and 200-yard freestyles with respective times of 25.93 seconds, 56.17 seconds, and 2:00.23. Junior Emily Testa (Evanston, Ill./ Evanston) and freshman Katherine Yang (Palo Alto, Calif./ Gunn) each won a pair of events. Testa took top honors in the 100- and 200-yard breaststrokes (1:12.10, 2:37.80), while Yang finished first in the 500- and 1,000-yard freestyles (5:27.94, 11:09.50). Junior Deb Ayoub (Miami, Fla./ Coral Reef) registered a winning time of 1:03.92 in the 100-yard butterfly. The Maroons are 2-1 in dual meet competition on the season. |
