Chicago Defeats Monmouth 142-87

Chicago -- The University of Chicago women's swimming team defeated Monmouth (Ill.) College 142-87 in dual meet action Saturday at the Myers-McLoraine Pool in the Ratner Athletics Center.

Senior Rachel Neumayer (New Lenox, Ill./ Lincoln-Way) and sophomore Katherine Yang (Palo Alto, Calif./ Gunn) each won a pair of events. Neumayer finished first in the 50-yard freestyle (27.56 seconds) and 200-yard backstroke (2:25.81), while Yang took top honors in the 500- and 1,000-yard freestyle (5:31.53, 11:32.14).

With the win, Chicago improved to 2-1 in dual meets this season.
