October 18, 2005 CHICAGO - University of Chicago senior women's soccer player Kay Saul (Long Beach, Calif./ Polytechnic) and sophomore football player Mike Albian (Darien, Ill./ Montini) have been selected as the University Athletic Association Athletes of the Week in their respective sports, the conference announced today. Saul led a Chicago defensive unit that last week posted shutouts over Lake Forest College, 12th-ranked University of Rochester, and Case Western Reserve University, holding the three teams to a collective 14 shots. She also registered an assist in the win over Lake Forest. Albian caught three touchdown passes this past Saturday as the Maroons defeated Carnegie Mellon University 35-6 to gain at least a share of the 2005 UAA championship. Albian scored on receptions of 8, 18, and 40 yards and finished the day with 85 yards on five receptions. Saul and Albian received their first career UAA Athlete of the Week award. |
