November 1, 2005 CHICAGO -- University of Chicago senior defensive tackle Rob Tamillow (Oak Park, Ill./ Fenwick) and junior quarterback Matt Rinklin (New York, N.Y./ Fordham Prep) have been selected as the University Athletic Association Athletes of the Week for football, the conference announced today. Tamillow collected three sacks and six tackles-for-loss as Chicago held host Bethany (W.Va.) College to 111 yards of total offense in a 42-3 win this past Saturday. With his six tackles-for-loss, Tamillow became the Chicago modern era career leader in that category with 48. He earned his second career UAA player of the week award and his first of the 2005 campaign. Rinklin threw four touchdown passes in the Maroons' 42-3 rout over Bethany. A first-time UAA Athlete of the Week recipient, he completed 12 of 21 passes without an interception for 233 yards as the Maroons amassed 379 yards of total offense. |
