Ben Barnes Named UAA Athlete of the Week

CHICAGO -- University of Chicago junior wrestler Ben Barnes (Wheaton, Ill./ Wheaton-Warrenville South) has been named the University Athletic Association Athlete of the Week, the conference announced today.

Barnes won both of his matches against NCAA upper division opponents at the Northwestern University Duals on Dec. 15. Competing at 184 pounds, he notched a 10-6 decision against his opponent from Division I Northwestern, before recording a technical fall against his rival from Division II University of Indianapolis.

Barnes received his first career UAA Athlete of the Week award.
