October 16, 2005 CHICAGO -- Senior midfielder Joe Frontczak (Creve Coeur, Mo./ Chaminade) scored both goals as the 19th-ranked University of Chicago men's soccer team defeated University Athletic Association rival Case Western Reserve University 2-0 Sunday at Stagg Field. Frontczak tallied off an assist from senior forward Ryan Ehle (Holland, Ohio/ St. John's Jesuit) at the 29:10 mark before scoring an unassisted goal at 62:23. Frontczak has 10 goals on the season, becoming the first Chicago player to achieve that feat since Barret Van Sicklen in 2002. Junior goalkeeper Keith Crum (Holland, Pa./ Council Rock South) stopped five shots to post his fourth shutout of the year and the seventh by Chicago this year. Chicago improved its record to 10-3 overall, marking its sixth consecutive 10-victory campaign, and 3-1 in the UAA. Case dropped to 6-6-2
overall, 1-2-1 in conference play. |
