For Immediate Release Chicago Defeats St. Norbert 4-0 Oshkosh, Wis. -- Senior midfielder Joe Frontczak (Creve Coeur, Mo./ Chaminade) scored a pair of goals to lead the University of Chicago men's soccer team to a 4-0 win over previously undefeated St. Norbert College Saturday at the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh Valley Cup Invitational. Frontczak scored the first two goals of the match 1:54 apart, tallying at 23:03 and 24:57, to give him a team-high six goals on the season. Freshman forward Eric Floyd (McMurray, Pa./ Peters) followed Frontczak's second goal with his fourth of the year at the 25:45 mark, giving Chicago (6-1-0) three goals in a 2:42 span. Senior forward Ryan Ehle (Holland, Ohio/ St. John's Jesuit) capped the scoring with his third goal of the season at 50:21. Ehle was also credited with two assists on the day. Junior goalkeepers Keith Crum (Holland, Pa./ Council Rock South) and Tom Bailey (Overland Park, Kan./ Pembroke Hill) combined on the shutout. Crum collected three saves in 76 minutes, before Bailey came on to make one stop in the game's final 14 minutes. St. Norbert (5-1-0) suffered its first setback of the season. |
