Four Maroons Net All-UAA Honors

CHICAGO -- Four members of the University of Chicago men's tennis team have been selected to the 2006 All-University Athletic Association Team, the conference announced today.

The doubles tandems of senior Ward Bortz (Brookfield, Wis./ Marquette) and junior Vivek Venkataraman (Columbus, Ohio/ Columbus Academy); and sophomore Sasha Deriy (Bolingbrook, Ill./ IMSA) and freshman Alex Winney (Yorktown, Ind./ Yorktown) earned first-team recognition at first and third doubles, respectively.

Both tandems posted 2-0 marks at the UAA Championship tournament at Emory University on April 21-22 to lead the Maroons to a fifth-place finish.
