February 25, 2006 CHICAGO -- In a clash of nationally-ranked men's tennis teams, 20th-ranked Carthage College defeated the 25th-ranked University of Chicago 6-1 on Saturday evening. Sophomore Bharath Sithian (Staten Island, N.Y./ Staten Island Academy) posted a 4-6, 7-5, 1-0 (8) victory at fifth singles and teamed with sophomore Joseph Tchan (Woodland Hills, Calif./ Taft) to record an 8-5 victory at third doubles. Chicago fell to 5-3 in dual match competition, including a 1-2 mark against nationally-ranked opponents and a 3-3 standing against regionally-ranked foes. Carthage improved to 7-1 on the year. Carthage and Chicago entered the contest ranked fifth and sixth, respectively, in the Central Region. Carthage 6, Chicago 1 Singles competition
