Maroons Defeat Illinois-Springfield

CHICAGO -- The University of Chicago men's tennis team opened play in 2006 with a 6-1 victory over the University of Illinois-Springfield on Saturday evening.

Sophomore Sasha Deriy (Bolingbrook, Ill./ IMSA) posted a three-set victory at first singles and teamed with sophomore Joseph Tchan (Woodland Hills, Calif./ Taft) to record an 8-6 win at first doubles.
