April 8, 2006 NAPERVILLE, Ill. -- The University of Chicago men's outdoor track & field team finished in 10th place at the 16-team Chicagoland Championships Friday and Saturday at North Central College. Senior Teage O'Connor (Thousand Oaks, Calif./ Thousand Oaks) and junior Emil Bojanov (Sofia, Bulgaria/ Dulaney, Md.) posted second-place finishes, O'Connor in the 3,000-meter steeplechase (9:25.5) and Bojanov in the 1,500-meter run (3:57.48). Junior Dan Dickinson (Minneapolis, Minn./ Southwest) and sophomore Zach Rodgers (Nashville, Tenn./ University) notched fifth-place showings in the 10,000-meter run (32:49.27) and high jump (1.83 m), respectively. The host Cardinals won the event with 164 points, while the University of Illinois-Chicago was next with 108. Chicago totaled 34 points. |
