Pettke, Kendall Named to All-UAA Team
CHICAGO -- University
of Chicago senior right side hitter Erica Pettke (Sussex, Wis./ Divine
Savior Holy Angels) and sophomore middle hitter Koryn Kendall (Napa,
Calif./ Vintage) have been selected to the 2005 All-University Athletic
Association volleyball team, the conference announced today.
An honorable mention
selection, Pettke earned her second appearance on the All-UAA team in
as many years. She led the Maroons in service aces (54) and ranked second
on the club in kills (318) and digs (281) during the 2005 campaign.
Pettke concluded her
career among the Chicago all-time leaders in kills (2nd, 1,087), digs
(3rd, 1,131), aces (5th, 158), total blocks (5th, 222), block assists
(6th, 148), and block solos (9th, 74).
Kendall garnered her
first career All-UAA selection, joining Pettke as an honorable mention
pick. She established a school record with a .390 hitting percentage while
leading the team in kills (350), block solos (54), block assists (73),
and total blocks (127).
Her block assists
season total was the third-highest in Chicago history, while her total
blocks and block solos figures marked the fourth- and seventh-highest.
Chicago posted a 12-23
overall record this season and tied for seventh place in the UAA with
a 3-8 mark in league play.
