Drops Three of Four at Aurora Invite
Aurora, Ill.
-- The University of Chicago volleyball team posted a 1-3 mark at the
Jim Coleman Memorial Tournament at Aurora University on Friday and Saturday.
Senior right side hitter Erica Pettke (Sussex, Wis./ Divine Savior
Holy Angels) was named to the all-tournament team after collecting
44 kills and 36 digs on the weekend.

The Maroons were plagued by a .115 hitting percentage as they
dropped the tournament opener. Freshman outside hitter Katie Volzer
(North Canton, Ohio/ North Canton) led the club with 10 kills, while
sophomore middle hitter Koryn Kendall (Napa, Calif./ Vintage) recorded
seven blocks.
Southwestern

Chicago capped the first day of the tournament with its first
three-game defeat of the season. Pettke led the Maroons with three blocks.
Senior outside hitter Katie Meinhover (Ottertail, Minn./ Perham)
hit a team-best eight kills with a .333 percentage.

North Park 31-33, 30-26, 30-24, 30-19
Kendall and Pettke clubbed 21 and 15 kills, respectively, in the
Maroons' lone victory of the tournament. Junior setter Nikki Sindy
(Granger, Ind./ Penn) registered 54 assists and 11 digs, while senior
libero Rose Kulczycki (Urbana, Ill./ Urbana) led Chicago with 19
digs.

Kendall led the way with 15 kills, a .448 hitting percentage,
and five blocks as the Maroons suffered their third five-game loss in
six defeats this year. Pettke collected 14 kills and 12 digs, while Meinhover
finished with 10 kills and 16 digs.
