October 27, 2005 KENOSHA, Wis. -- Sophomore middle hitter Koryn Kendall (Napa, Calif./ Vintage) led three Maroons in double figure kills with 13 as the University of Chicago volleyball team lost at 23rd-ranked Carthage 28-30, 30-24, 30-21, 26-30, 15-7 on Thursday night. Kendall, who hit .357, also contributed four service aces and three blocks as the Maroons (12-19) took the nationally-ranked Redmen (26-3) to five games. Senior outside hitters Erica Pettke (Sussex, Wis./ Divine Savior Holy Angels) and Katie Meinhover (Ottertail, Minn./ Perham) each collected 11 kills and finished with double-digit digs -- Meinhover with 14 and Pettke 12. Junior setter Nikki Sindy (Granger, Ind./ Penn) recorded 46 assists. |
